Mar Hall Golf & Spa Resort, in Bishopton, Renfrewshire, made the devastating announcement earlier this week but say its still operating “on a business as usual basis”.
A luxury Scots hotel favoured by celebrities including Beyonce and George Clooney has plunged into administration - with 118 jobs at risk.The hotel, which is also a popular wedding venue, has played host to a wide range of showbiz figures over the years.
It has been used as the base for the Scottish National Football Team while also hosting other clubs including Real Madrid, AC Milan and Liverpool FC. A statement released by Mar Estates Ltd yesterday said: “On 22 August 2023, Andrew Dolliver, Kris Aspin and Luke Charleton of EY-Parthenon’s turnaround and restructuring strategy team were appointed as joint administrators of Mar Estates Limited, trading as Mar Hall Golf & Spa Resort.
