Lorraine Johnson says her partner Stephen Ross is due to fly home at the end of this week.

A Scots holidaymaker who was placed into a medically induced coma in a Spanish hospital for 15 days following a horror fall in a Benidorm hotel is due to be flown home by air ambulance.

His partner of 13 years, Lorraine, 56, who flew back to Spain on Friday, October 20, to be with him says she has been left 'overjoyed' by the news and says that he is now able to recognise her after being 'unresponsive' since his fall."They've not given an exact date but they said it would either be the 29th or the 30th of this month. There is still a lot of paperwork to do but I'm over the moon.

She continued: "He's started to recognise me when I've been going in to visit him. I was having a wee joke with him saying what a mess you've left me in and he started laughing. "He's still not spoken yet. He seems a bit delirious but I'm hopeful that being back home and being around people that speak the same language as him will help."

"I just want to thank everyone who has donated to help with the bills so far. Your support has been amazing," She added.
