Tony Bennett was found guilty of importing raw cocaine and heroin to Scotland from Ecuador.
A drug dealer has been jailed for trafficking million of pounds of high purity drugs into Scotland from South America. Tony Bennett sourced raw heroin and cocaine in Ecuador.
A number of associates helped Bennett - who was in contact with 60 hoods across the globe - to commit the crimes, which are linked to serious organised crime. Prosecutors told the court how a police-led intelligence operation found evidence of Bennett’s drug-running scheme. Using the pseudonyms “Mr Nice” and “Kind Killer” he sent encrypted messages to associates all over the world.
Sineidin Corrins, Deputy Procurator Fiscal for specialist casework at the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service, said: "Tony Bennett was an important link in the chain with an international cartel to import large quantities of Class A drugs into Scotland.
