Schools across Scotland could be closed next month by a fresh wave of strike action over pay
Unison members employed by local authorities are currently being balloted for industrial action after rejecting a five per cent pay offer by Cosla, which represents councils.
Lillian Macer added she was confident the strike ballot would meet the required threshold for turnout. "And if they do not, then our members will take industrial action in schools across Scotland. I have no doubt about that. Unite has said its members have voted to strike in 10 local authority areas after the summer holidays.
