Skelmersdale football suspended over 'scandalous' parking dispute row
Parents have slammed the council's 'scandalous' decision to suspend football games in Skelmersdale due to a parking dispute.
Jonathan Bishop whose son Ryan, 14, plays in the league said: "We have parents coming in from Formby, Huyton, and Kirkby who don't know the local area who are parking close to the field and now the games have been cancelled because people are not parking where they want them to park. The cancellation has sparked outrage on local social media groups, one man said: "JMO should be embarrassed. I get they have the lease for the carpark so are entitled to make their own rules, but come on. Do they not realise that the people they're turning away on a Sunday are the same people who are their customers during the week."
