Scale of Stirling's homelessness problem revealed as more than 250 kids left at risk

The figures from the Scottish Government have also shown a spike in the number of children living in temporary accommodation locally.

New figures have revealed that more than 250 children in Stirling are currently at risk of homelessness.

However, the impact of the issues with putting a roof over the heads of those in need can be found elsewhere in the research, with 740 people associated with applications assessed as homeless including 257 children. Across Scotland, there are now a total of 29,692 households included in the homelessness system – the highest figure since records began – and the number of households in temporary accommodation is also a new record at 15,039.

“The Scottish Government must push on with plans to prevent homelessness, so people can get help earlier and so public services help stop people being forced from their homes.
