A big loss

A major high street brand is set to close its high street store in Nottingham with all of its stock reduced to clear. Jack Wills on Bridlesmith Gate is set to close in January 2023.

Jack Wills is a lifestyle brand that started with one store in Salcombe, Devon, in 1999 before opening shops and concessions across the UK. The brand was targeted at a younger shopping demographic selling wardrobe staples. In recent months, Barista Labs coffee, Stick and Ribbon clothing along with Relic X Hooked have all opened their doors, dramatically changing the footfall on the street and bringing in new customers. Jack Wills is in a prime location for a potential new store as its placed near Costa Coffee and 101 Vintage.

Shoppers on the busy street felt sadness that the store was about to close and there were concerns for the staff as it is so close to the holiday period. It is unclear how many staff were employed by the brand.
