Airport workers in the destination are to strike this week.
Anyone travelling to Italy this week is set to face flight cancellations and delays due to industrial action.
Announcing the news on Wednesday, a statement on the Ryanair website reads: "Due to a 24hr 3rd party ground handling strike in Italy this Fri , Ryanair regrets to inform customers that we have been forced to cancel a small number of flights to/from Italy and some customers may also experience delays on Fri as a result of this 3rd party ground handling strike.
EasyJet is advising passengers to monitor their flight's status in case it is impacted by disruption. Its statement issued on Wednesday reads: "We have been advised of a national strike action in Italy on Friday 8 th September which may affect critical areas in the airport. Top Trending Stories Today According to Italian response service Crisis 24, labour unions CUB, UGL, FLAI, FIT, CISL, and USB which represent airport workers are demanding increased pay in line with rising inflation and better job security.
