Royal Oldham Hospital to get £28m extension to tackle bed shortage and stop patients being treated in corridors
A multi-million pound new extension to the Royal Oldham Hospital which will address ‘health inequalities’ and a shortage of beds for patients has been given the green light.
The current Cafe Royal and J-Block would demolished to make way for the new development which would provide new in-patient beds and 24 new beds in a crucial care unit, and also space for relocated endoscopy provision. “Phase 4B will look to address a lack of general and acute beds throughout the Royal Oldham site and the impact this capacity deficit has on the performance of services on this site.
