'I feel really unwell. I have not been able to sleep and I am worried about my children.'
A woman was forced to hide in her loft when her drunk ex smashed her window and threatened to kill her.
On the day of the incident, Brown, of Pennine Road, Bacup, turned up at his ex's house banging and shouting at the door. When he was not allowed into the property, he picked up a plant pot and smashed the kitchen window, shouting threats to kill her.The woman was so worried about what might happen she took refuge with her children in the roof space. However the whole incident was captured on her Ring doorbell. She said: "I feel really unwell.
The following day, Brown emailed his ex apologising for what he had done and offering to hand himself into the police. He pleaded guilty to criminal damage and making threats to kill and appeared at Burnley Crown Court to be sentenced. In her victim impact statement the woman said she tried to raise her children in a kind and loving environment and did not like any kind of confrontation. Brown told the court he has been sober for five months and is living with his parents to help his mum with the care of his frail father. He added: "I think about my children every day. In hindsight, she was protecting them from seeing me drunk.
