It’s not an impossibility to think Wilson can turn it around — but there’s not much evidence throughout NFL history that a quarterback can bounce back from this and become a quality player, at least not for the team that drafted him.
Saleh, though, is leaving the door open to turning the keys back over to Wilson at some point this season. So Wilson is back to square one, while the rest of the team moves forward. This is a fork-in-the-road moment for Wilson, and for the Jets as an organization. It’s a moment that will be discussed for years to come.
