Cristiano Ronaldo demanding payment of £17million from Juventus despite leaving last year
Cristiano Ronaldo is seeking payments of around £17million still owed to him by Juventus, according to reports.
The Portugal international re-signed for Manchester United in the summer of 2021 after three seasons in Italy, but is now said to be demanding a payment from the Serie A side.Advertisement, an agreement was signed that would see Juventus pay Ronaldo bonuses of around £17m. Like other players, he agreed to take a pay cut amid the outbreak of the Covid pandemic to support the club, and he would have received the money even if he left.
However this does not appear to have happened, with the agreement not believed to have been reported to the stock market, and Ronaldo has now consulted lawyers to look at the club’s finances ‘before making his request’.Juventus sporting director Federico Cherubini is said to have told former chairman Andrea Agnelli about the funds before he rejoined United: “€19m from the previous year and €9m from a year earlier, so €28m before taxes due to COVID.
