Police want more information
Police have released CCTV images of two men they want to trace following an attempted robbery in Lancaster.
Officers said the victim, a man in his 50s, was was hit over the head on the canal path near to the traffic lights of Penny Street. The incident happened on Tuesday, July 25, and caused the man to fall over and sustain a leg injury. Lancashire Constabulary have now launched an appeal and are asking the public to help identify the men in the CCTV. One of the men is wearing a blue Nike top with black pants, trainers and a hat while the other man has a blue top and is talking on his mobile phone.Lancaster Area Police said: "Do you recognise these men? We want to trace them in connection with an attempted robbery in Lancaster.
"It happened on the canal path near to the traffic lights of Penny Street on July 25. The victim, a man in his 50’s, was hit over the head causing him to fall over and sustain a leg injury. "We appreciate they aren't the clearest CCTV images, but we're hoping someone will recognise them. Anyone who does recognise either of the men pictured, witnessed the incident, or has information about it is asked to please contact 101 – quoting log 1509 of July 25."
