Alan Patton had 133 previous conviction, court told

An East Belfast man with 133 previous conviction was today jailed for 32 months for robbing a shop with a ‘dirty’ syringe.

The prosecutor added: “The supervisor told police that she saw the needle and described it as a full plastic syringe. The defendant took £95 from the cash register and told her: ‘Don’t move. Give me five minutes before you come out. I know where you work’.” Join our new WhatsApp community today Click this link or scan the QR code to receive breaking news and top stories from Belfast Live. A pre-sentence report assessed Patton as a high likelihood of reoffending but did not pose a danger to the public.
