Andrew Morris, senior equity release adviser at Age Partnership said “Since the start of the pandemic I have noticed a significant rise in the number of people enquiring about equity release because they want to clear their standard mortgage.and life choices has meant more people choosing to retire early and as a result, wanting to switch to an equity release mortgage which comes without the need to make monthly repayments.
“Hand in hand with this, there also seems to be more people entering retirement who still have a repayment mortgage in place.with outstanding homeowner debts, whereas a few years ago people would have expected to have paid off their mortgage before retiring.price growth, customers are more confident about making use of their property wealth as part of financial planning.”
