Earlier, Ms Truss used her final appearance as Prime Minister to defend her pro-growth policies despite the failure of her premiership. Mr Hunt said last week that the plan – which will lay out a strategy to eliminate the deficit over the coming years – would be published on 31 October as he announced a number of measures to reverse the disastrous “mini-Budget” devised by Mr Kwarteng.
