Former Met Officer jailed for horrific child abuse images
A former Met Police officer from Grantham has been jailed for over five years over child sex offences.
A serving Met chief inspector, Richard Watkinson, was due to be charged but was found dead at his home the day he was due to answer bail. Commander Jon Savell, head of Professionalism in the Met, said at the time of conviction in May: “The content that these men had been viewing has been described by seasoned specialist investigators as some of the most serious that they had ever seen.
