People on the Edwards Lane estate say the issue of bad parking in the area has been a problem for many years
People on Nottingham's Edwards Lane estate are "screaming out" for bad parking to be tackled after Nottingham City Transport was unable to serve bus stops there because of the problem. Residents have spoken out several times in recent years about people leaving their cars parked inappropriately in the area, often blocking driveways as a result.
Mrs Gisby said: "It feels like we're screaming out for someone to listen to us about this. The issue with the buses has happened several times before because the bad parking has been going on for some years now."It was so bad at one point that I had called for an ambulance during the pandemic because I was quite poorly with Covid, and the ambulance couldn't pull up outside the house. I had to be taken further down the road.
"We tend to use other buses but we do use the number 40 sometimes. [Bad parking] has definitely got worse in recent years." The Nottingham University Hospitals Trust also says it has provided a number of travel to work schemes for staff and has expanded parking capacity at Nottingham City Hospital. But some residents suggested the issue of bad parking appeared to be more widespread than just hospital staff.
