🚧 Worries over traffic disruption as Western Growth Corridor work starts in Lincoln
Residents living near the Western Growth Corridor remain worried about potential traffic disruption as a year of roadworks are set to start on Monday.
Local resident Robin Gemmell expressed his frustration, stating:"It's already a busy road to get in and out of the driveway as it is. It's only going to get worse." Another resident added: “It’s going to have a massive impact, that junction is going to be under traffic control and roadworks for a year.
Others also questioned the decision to build on a flood plain, given the recent instances of flooding in the area.A one-way system was initially planned for the roadworks, however this was changed to a traffic light system after complaints from residents. Councillor Naomi Tweddle, City of Lincoln Council's Portfolio Holder for Inclusive Economic Growth, has previously said she remained optimistic about the long-term benefits.
