Trained climbers from Scottish Fire and Rescue Service performed a daring rescue after frisbee-loving Drogba lost his footing
More than 30 rescue workers battled for two hours to rescue a lively Lab stranded on a ledge above a waterfall after he tumbled down a 30ft drop.Emergency water and rope teams from Kelty, Edinburgh and Perth rushed in a number of SFRS appliances to help.
As Sue and Lorraine crossed a footbridge over the swirling water 30 foot below, they wondered why their other dog, a spaniel, was sniffing about near the edge looking agitated. Then, to Sue’s horror, she saw Drogba had tumbled onto a grassy ledge below. The river narrowed even further below and swirling white water swept through a treacherous passage.
The area was quickly crawling with emergency teams, the boat crew and water rescue people in diving gear.
