Readers have called out comedian Joe Lycett's bluff after a video posted on his Instagram page showed him shredding what appeared to be £10,000 in cash.
Homosexuality is illegal in the country and anyone found to be taking part is same-sex sexual activity could face up to seven years in prison. Lycett, a prominent LGBTQ+ campaigner, said Beckham was a gay icon and was among the first high profile footballers to pose for gay magazines and to speak openly about his gay fans.Lycett said he would be donating £10,000 to LGBTQ+ charities if Beckham ended the deal, however he would shred the cash with the football star failed to do so.
