Schoolboy struggles with eating out and was delighted when football club laid on special meal for him

Eating the right diet is a key part of keeping healthy for everyone. But for young Oliver Robertson, a rare condition means choosing the wrong foods or not taking his supplements could leave him brain damaged.

Oliver's mother, Gina Robertson, who owns Stables Pies Ltd in Whalley, near Blackburn, with Oliver's dad Callum, told LancsLive: "Oliver had his heel prick test, which they do when you're pregnant and PKU was one of the things they test for. It's a lifelong condition that he'll have and basically, if he doesn't stick to a specific diet or take his supplements then it could leave him brain damaged.

"Supermarkets don't have a lot of readily available food for him either. The rise of veganism has helped, as a lot of vegan food doesn't have much protein in it."
