Man United defender Raphael Varane is set for a 'few weeks' on the sidelines and leaves the club light on defensive options.
Wouldn't you know it, as another deadline day looms Manchester United are scrambling to avert disaster.
Mount has struggled in his opening matches with his most impressive work coming off the ball rather than anything on it. To compound the issue further, Raphael Varane has also picked up an injury and has been ruled out for an alarmingly vague 'few weeks.' The centre-back's injury has not been specified after he was taken off at half-time in the narrow win over Nottingham Forest but it's now his eighth injury since joining the club in 2021.
Another centre-back injury will see Harry Maguire return to the fold, while an untested kid could be at full-back or the best centre-back in Lisandro Martinez will have to go out wide. It's not a solid foundation.
