A council has ordered contractors to halt work to convert the former RAF Scampton site.
The council's stop notice was displayed at the former RAF Scampton base site early on Friday morning
West Lindsey District Council said it had served contractors with a temporary stop notice after a "breach of planning control" at the ex-RAF Scampton.The council said work to prepare the site in Lincolnshire had broken rules over listed buildings and archaeology. Sally Grindrod-Smith, the local authority's director of planning, said the Home Office "has not provided the necessary information or reassurances".
