The head of Nato has warned Vladimir Putin will ‘weaponise winter', forcing Ukrainians to ‘freeze or flee’. Russian attacks mean that people are now living without light, water or heating, as the country begins to face temperatures below freezing.

Ukrainians are forced to visit places such as railway stations to find power for their phones and computers

Stoltenberg said: ‘President Putin is trying to weaponise winter. To force Ukrainians to freeze or flee. There are still over 2,000 arrivals a day into Bulgaria although a similar number continue to leave the country.
