BREAKING: Russian president Vladimir Putin has said the country’s towering ‘Satan II’ hypersonic missile is almost ready for deployment.

Money is no worry for the army, Putin added, having already laid out a defence budget of $84 billion for next year – 40% higher than the initial spending plan announced in 2021.

Putin urged Moscow to take special note of the importance of drones in the bloody conflict, adding that Satan II will soon be ready for use. Russia test-fired the ballistic missile, which has a range of 12,000 miles and soars five times faster than the speed of sound, in April. Only days after the Kremlin insisted using nuclear arms on Ukraine was out of the question, officials said Russia had successfully tested Satan II.

Sergey Karakaev, the commander of the country’s strategic missile forces, said at a military conference that the missile had taken flight in northern Russia.
