Fire breaks out at Archbishop Temple High School in Fulwood

The school has made parents aware of the fire and said efforts will be made to arrange buses to collect pupils from school at lunchtime."This was contained to the kitchen and has not affected any other areas of school."I would like to thank the fire service for their swift response and their professionalism in looking after our school building.
"Thanks go out also to staff who were first on the scene and experienced a shocking start to their day.“The fire service have declared the site safe and all necessary checks have taken place to allow us to open this morning.“Due to the fire being in the kitchen, we are unable to provide food and refreshments for pupils.
"As a result, we will need to close school today at 1pm. Those pupils entitled to free school meals will be able to collect a grab bag before leaving school. “Every effort will be made to rearrange buses for collection of pupils, however at this point, we are advising parents to ensure children are able to make their own way home.“Work for period 5 lessons will be set on firefly. Arrangements for tomorrow will be sent out later today.
