The high school received the lowest possible grade
Pupils at one school have been “let down” by the “unacceptably poor standard of education” a report has found.
The school has dropped a full grade after the latest inspection being deemed ‘inadequate’, the lowest possible. The headteacher said they were disappointed with the rating and assured parents they are making "rapid improvements". However, the report did say that pupils are happy at the school and most feel safe. The inspection also said that a new cohort of teachers has provided “some hope” and have an understanding of what needs to be done to improve the school.
“They are starting to take some positive action. However, the shortcomings at the school are wide-ranging and endemic. There is limited capacity to bring about the necessary improvements.” “When staff raise concerns, leaders are quick to act. They work with a range of external agencies to ensure that vulnerable pupils get the additional support that they need.”
"The inspector recognised this in the report, noting that our new leaders have an accurate view of what needs to be done, and had already started to take "positive action". We were also reassured to hear that our safeguarding is effective, noting that staff report any concerns promptly and when staff raise concerns, leaders are quick to act.
