The Department for Education will issue urgent warnings to schools with dangerous concrete later today
that they were briefed on the issue by ministers on Wednesday night, just days before children are set to return to the classroom following the summer holidays.that there “should be calls on ministers to disclose what they knew and when” and questioned “why did they leave it so late to take action?”.

It means schools with low levels of the concrete could move pupils to unaffected buildings or portacabins, while those with high levels may be forced to shut altogether. “The Education Secretary needs to tell parents how many schools are affected, whether their children are safe at school, and just what on earth is going on.”
