'Further examination of the object has confirmed it was a police issue torch.'
The PSNI has confirmed that the suspicious object at the centre of a security alert in Strabane was in fact a police torch.
Officers searched a property in Innisfree Gardens on Friday 18 November and then again on Monday, where they checked a wheelie bin at the property.Police say they discovered a suspicious object in that bin and the area was immediately cordoned off, with residents homes nearby evacuated.
