Writing for the Daily Record, Stephen Flynn blasts a proposed crackdown on coaches transporting fans to and from games
The snobbery towards football fans must end. Football fans are everyone and we can be found in every walk of life.
During the week we trust them to look after us, to feed us, to power our homes, to save us and to educate us. But at weekends, we’re now being told that we can’t trust them to board a bus and travel within a ten-mile radius of a football ground. Get a grip. On those buses will be daughters travelling to a game with their auld man for the first time. On those buses will be sons travelling to a match with their mum, their uncle, their aunt or their neighbour. I know this because I’ve been on those buses. I’ve lived it and I’ve enjoyed it.
Scottish politics They’ll have spent money locally before they left and on their return. They’ll have put money into bars and shops in communities across Scotland before the match. They’ll have been noisy, happy, then likely hungover.
