The prison which cost £212million to open, is being 'adversely affected' by staffing issues in the wake of a string of sex scandals involving inmates and female members of staff.
A scandal-hit prison has been hit by a staffing crisis after 18 female members of staff left their jobs after hooking up with inmates.
In March, it was reported that 18 female staff at the jail had been fired for hooking up with inmates. The record figures, uncovered in Freedom of Information requests, come after three of the women ended up in court over the illicit flings. Gavan was sentenced to eight months behind bars after pleading guilty to misconduct. Colleagues Emily Watson and Ayshea Gunn were also jailed after having flings with prisoners.
A new Independent Monitoring Boards report has now revealed that dwindling numbers among female support staff at the prison have become "the biggest destabilising factor" in running the jail.
