She's widely known as 'the hardest working member of the Royal Family' but there's one public event that you might not be spotting Princes Anne at in a hurry. According to Royal writers, the Princess Royal is not a tennis fan, and is even less a fan of the Wimbledon venue itself.
Royal writer Teresa Paddington listed tennis among the Queen’s “dislikes” in her 2012 book The Elizabeth II Pocket Bible. And respected royal biographer Brian Hoey, writing in his 2020 book Royalty Revealed: A Majestic Miscellany, wrote: “Tennis is not on the list of royal favourite sports.”But it's Anne's scathing comment that leaves a sting.
