Thousands of walkers raise a record £145K for leading cancer charity
The African parish priest of a late Cambuslang grandfather jetted from Kenya to walk alongside the man's loving family in support of the Scottish charity that cared for him during his journey with cancer.
At the end of last month, 52 members of his family performed a poignant dance at the Off the Beatson Track finish line at Glasgow’s Riverside Museum, which gathered a crowd of other walkers who watched on, with many joining in. Some family members travelled from England and other parts of Scotland to be at the fundraising event.
STV’s Laura Boyd and BBC’s David Farrell hosted the event, which started at the Riverside Museum, where participants took part in Zumba warm-up sessions from the ‘Zumba Sisters’.
