Matilda came to Preston in 1998 after the volcanic eruption in Monserrat caused her and family to flee. She absolutely threw herself into life in the city and will be very much missed. A lovely walk to pay tribute to her from her family and friends. ❤️

“My dad, who worked as an electrician, was the love of her life. He suffered a stroke in January 2021 and then caught Covid and died on Valentine’s Day. My mum was so strong. In December 2021, she underwent surgery for breast cancer. Her diagnosis of pancreatic cancer a few months later came as a huge shock.”
