Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou has been slammed for making nine changes in Tuesday’s Carabao Cup defeat to Fulham.on penalties at the first hurdle in what represents the club’s most realistic chance of silverware this season.Richarlison’s second-half strike cancelled out Micky van de Ven’s unfortunate own-goal which put the Cottagers ahead.
Fulham were able to keep their cool to dispatch all five penalty kicks and advance to round three but fingers have been pointed at Postecoglou’s line-up after a host of big names were rested. The decision did not go down well with Gabby Agbonlahor, who said a short history lesson would have been enough to help the Spurs boss make the correct call.
“Tottenham didn’t start very well but he should know the history of the last few seasons with Spurs and when they’ve rested players, they’ve been knocked out,” the former Aston Villa striker told talkSPORT.
