Electoral workers have warned there could be 'serious disruption' at the next general elections as voter ID laws will apply for the first time. Meanwhile, Rishi Sunak will face his last session of PMQs at 12pm before the conference recess.

Labour's shadow chancellor has described today as"another dismal day for growth" after figures this morning revealed the UK economy contracted by 0.5% in July .

A report today has warned there could be"serious disruption" at the next general election due to the impact of new voter ID laws. Separately, the elections watchdog has called on the government to expand access to voter ID after the new rules introduced in this year's local elections prevented some from voting.

"In July, industrial action by healthcare workers and teachers negatively impacted services, and it was a weaker month for construction and retail due to the poor weather."A busy schedule of sporting events and increased theme park visits provided a slight boost." The newspaper reported the pair had been linked to the United Front Work Department - China's main agency for shaping public opinion."They were subsequently blocked from the candidates list. They weren't told why."

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and Health Secretary Steve Barclay will today meet health experts as they seek to"mitigate winter pressures" hitting the NHS this year; A by-election will take place in Mid Bedfordshire on 19 October, with Labour putting forward Alistair Strathern as their candidate for the seat.

"I’m saying they would go nowhere, the moral high ground doesn’t count in the way the Lib Dems are acting in that constituency." Responding in a campaign email, the Liberal Democrats said:"We all knew Labour were desperate, but now they’re just making things up."A spokesperson added:"It's disappointing that Labour's Mid Beds campaign chief is spending his time peddling smears and falsehoods about the Liberal Democrats, instead of fighting the Conservatives.
