Rishi Sunak has lifted a ban on the building of onshore windfarms in England. And Labour has accused ministers of 'shrugging their shoulders' despite 180 warnings in parliament about the risks posed by crumbling school buildings.

Labour's shadow immigration minister Stephen Kinnock responded to his government counterpart Robert Jenrick's statement in the Commons , describing it as"thin".

He described the government's"small boats week" in July as an"omnishambles", and added:"No wonder the home secretary didn't want to do a single interview, and no wonder she isn't here today." She added:"If you are caught using 'laughing gas' as a drug, you could be hit with a hefty fine or face jail time."

The government has streamlined planning rules, meaning local areas have a greater say in how onshore wind projects should be considered. He also gave the latest details on migrants returned to Albania - 3,500 - adding that there has been a 90% fall in arrivals since a return scheme was confirmed.Afghan families are now able to"move on with the next stage of their lives in settled accommodation".

The education secretary had strong words for school chiefs who have not yet responded to engineering surveys on crumbling concrete today... Ms Keegan said today:"We've written to them quite a few times and we've also set up a call centre to phone them up to ask them to do it and they still haven't. Ms Keegan was confronted with the clip of her swearing on the first episode ofMinisters investigating extent of RAAC issues in public buildings
