One car was seized
Police in Gedling have issued a warning to drivers who have been treating roads "as a racetrack." Officers are targeting 'dangeous' car cruises in the areas of Carlton, Netherfield, Burton Joyce and surrounding villages following ongoing complaints from residents.

This comes after a protection order was issued in an attempt to stop illegal car meets near a large industrial estate in Colwick.Police were called to a gathering of drivers in Mile End Road, a residential street that stretches past Colwick Country Park towards Colwick Industrial Estate, on the evening of Saturday, February 18, following reports from neighbours of noise as drivers gathered there to race their cars.
A post issued by Gedling Police read: "Due to the ongoing complaints that residents in the area have been making this weekend saw a joint operation between Op Reacher, Carlton NPT and Roads Policing targeting the car cruises along with those who are using the roads as a racetrack and are a danger to others. With a large amount of marked Police Vehicles in the area we saw a reduced amount of anti-social driving.
