Two groups of youths were fighting outside Meadows Leisure Centre
Merseyside Police were called at around 8pm on August 29, to a brawl involving youths outside Meadows Leisure Centre, on Hall Lane in Maghull. It was reported that two groups were fighting before a 16-year-old boy suffered stab wounds to his leg and needed hospital treatment for minor injuries.
The Order, under S60 of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994, gives officers enhanced stop and search powers to stop individuals in the area and is designed to minimise serious violence. “This behaviour will not be tolerated and extra officers will be in the area to search any individuals or groups causing such issues, and to provide reassurance to the vast majority of law-abiding people in the community. Such action isn’t about bothering anyone going about their daily business or preventing young people from meeting with friends.
