Officers have received 'numerous reports of disorder' at Stanley Park in the past week resulting in a crackdown
Police officers swarmed a Blackpool park after reports of youths causing havoc and misery to visitors.
The order allowed police to disperse groups of people whose behaviour has resulted in or is likely to result in a member of the public 'being harassed, alarmed or distressed'. Officers have now appealed to parents and guardians to 'be aware of who their children are with and where they are'.
"This allows police to disperse groups of people whose behaviour has resulted in or is likely to result in a member of the public being harassed, alarmed or distressed. Due to the amount of calls, numerous officers were deployed to Stanley Park to deal with the incidents to ensure the safety of those coming to enjoy the park.
Responding to the post on Facebook, one person said: "What I can't understand is why they need a dispersal order, in my day they just did it and if kids were a nuisance they were taken home!!"
