Officers were called following reports of concern for the safety of a man inside the premises

Officers were called to the Royal Liverpool Hospital at around 8.56pm last night following reports of concern for the safety of a man inside the premises, the Liverpool Echo reports. A number of police vehicles, including patrol cars and vans, surrounded the entrance.

The man - aged in his 20s - was treated at the scene but was sadly pronounced dead. His next of kin has been informed.An investigation is now underway and a scene remains in place at the hospital.
