'This level of violence and disorder will not be tolerated'
Police are continuing to investigate after a huge brawl broke out following the Bolton Wanderers v Wigan Athletic football match.
A Section 34 Dispersal Order was issued to make people leave the area. One man needed hospital treatment, police said.Two men who were arrested on suspicion of violent disorder have since been released on bail. Greater Manchester Police have now set up a public portal where people can provide information, pictures or videos of the incident.
Superintendent Danny O'Neil said: "This level of violence and disorder will not be tolerated and we are determined to locate those involved so they can be dealt with appropriately. Officers’ body worn footage is being reviewed but we are also appealing for members of the public to come forward with any information, photos or footage of the incident.
After the incident, Councillor Arthur Price, who represents Westhoughton North on Bolton Council, was left reeling by the scenes. "It's something we definitely don't want to see again," he told the Manchester Evening News.
