A coroner has concluded Yousef Makki was killed by Joshua Molnar whose actions amounted to manslaughter
Greater Manchester Police are set to ‘carefully review’ a coroner’s ruling that Yousef Makki was unlawfully killed by his schoolfriend Joshua Molnar.
Molnar had previously been acquitted of manslaughter and murder following a criminal trial in 2019. But Yousef's family fought for a second inquest into the teenager's death after a coroner previously concluded in 2021 he died of 'complications from a stab wound the precise circumstances of which cannot, on the balance of probabilities, be ascertained'. His family took the case to judicial review last year and secured a new hearing.
Following three days of evidence at Stockport Coroners' Court last week, Mr Williams today said that Molnar's actions on the night amounted to manslaughter and ruled that Yousef was unlawfully killed. "Greater Manchester Police will now carefully review the ruling in consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service before considering further steps."
