Thames Valley Police has referred itself to the police watchdog over the incident.
Police shot a man dead at a home in Milton Keynes after finding another man dead and a young child seriously injured.
Inside they found a man in his 30s who was later confirmed dead, as well as the child who had serious injuries. First aid was immediately given to him and ambulance crews treated him but he was pronounced dead at the scene, Thames Valley Police said. The force said its investigation was ‘at a very early stage and no further information can be provided at this time’.Assistant chief constable Christian Bunt, said: ‘What has happened this morning can only be described as absolutely tragic and will no doubt have an impact on the community.‘Our major crime unit are working closely with the IOPC to understand exactly what has happened.
