Emergency services blocked off the busy bus route after the collision
Police closed off Wilmslow Road in south Manchester on Wednesday afternoon after a man was hit by a car.
Emergency services, including police officers and paramedics, attended the scene in Withington shortly before 4pm. The road was quickly blocked off as the pedestrian was treated. The man was then rushed to hospital from the scene for treatment. His injuries are not currently thought to be life-threatening.Witnesses reported seeing a 'man lying in the road' and a car that appeared to have 'mounted the kerb' at the scene following the crash at around 3.55pm.
The North West Ambulance Service confirmed paramedics attended and took a male to hospital, as Greater Manchester Police conducted enquiries at the scene. A spokesperson for the force said: "Police were called to reports of a road traffic collision between a car and a pedestrian today at 3.55pm on Wilmslow Road in Withington. The male pedestrian was taken to hospital for treatment on injuries which are not life-threatening."
