Police Scotland wants more than 10,000 officers and staff to have access to the technology.

The use of police body-worn cameras could lead to a "spike in guilty pleas" and reduce pressure on the courts, Police Scotland has claimed.

The force has confirmed firearms officers patrolling the United Nations COP26 climate conference in Glasgow in November will have body-worn cameras.staff increased overall by 6.3% in 2020-21, with 6,942 attacks recorded. He added: "We know there is a real spike in guilty pleas, which again reduces that congestion in courts.
