Progress is continuing at the vast Fairham site, which is near Gotham and Clifton, with infrastructure being readied to support the 3,000 homes which will be built in the future
More plans have been submitted as part of a huge housing project near Nottingham which will create thousands of new homes. Progress is continuing at the vast Fairham site, which is near Gotham and Clifton, with the road infrastructure which will support the 3,000 homes completed recently.
The new neighbourhood when fully built will have one million square feet of employment space, a primary school, community and sports facilities, and a neighbourhood centre. It will also have provision of a safeguarded route to allow for the possible future extension of the tram through the site, and gypsy and traveller pitches.
One of the site's housebuilders, Redrow, has now resubmitted plans for 93 houses to be built on a parcel of land located at the northern entrance to the Fairham development. The 3.18 hectare plot has access from the newly constructed primary route through the development and Nottingham Road and is next to the recently constructed Park and Ride facility.
Planning documents highlighted Fairham Pastures Developments Limited & Homes England had recently submitted an application to vary plans for the configuration and levels of the Northern Gateway Roundabout. Redrow's planning application is pending consideration by Rushcliffe Borough Council. Clowes, the developer behind the mammoth Fairham project as a whole, said a lot of interest had been expressed in the residential part of the project at the start of this year. They previously explained work was focused on completing infrastructure and fostering a sense of identity at the site, while some commercial buildings had already been constructed.
