The upgrade to material lighting and model quality is substantial in Pikmin 4 - though the preceding Pikmin 3 was certainly no slouch in the visuals department on Wii U. The Pikmin series' jump to a new engine technology brings about a locked 30fps experience on Nintendo Switch - though Pikmin 4 does show intermittent one frame dips, likely as its native resolution changes based on GPU load.
