Manchester City midfielder Phil Foden has spoken about the club's aims for the new season after winning the treble last season

The academy graduate played 48 games across all competitions as City claimed Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League glory last season. That included coming on for an injured Kevin De Bruyne in the first half of the Champions League final as the club finally got their hands on the famous European trophy.

It was an incredible feat from Guardiola’s men, who won the English top-flight for a third straight season. However, having claimed the ultimate prize in club football, Foden admitted that the team needed to discover a reason to hit those same heights, once again. For Foden, that came from a conversation with Jack Grealish, shortly after lifting the Champions League trophy. The fresh goal for City this season, then, is to win the quadruple."I remember actually speaking to Jack [Grealish] about this. After the Champions League was done, we both looked at each other and thought, 'how are we going to get that high again?' I was almost a bit sad thinking about it," Foden admitted to Sky Sports.

"So we had a little discussion and the only way is to just do it again or do the quadruple. That's the aim now. We have to try and do it again. I know it's nearly impossible because it's such a hard thing to do but the lads are craving that now and want to do it again." Foden could end up with an even larger medal haul, if City leave no stone unturned. More than adding the Carabao Cup to their previous treble, City have already won the European Super Cup and are also scheduled to compete in the Club World Cup near the end of the year. As a result, Foden could potentially end the season with as many as six medals, which would certainly see the club break plenty of records along the way.
